Ruth and Esther are the only women in the Bible who have entire books devoted to their story. The book of Ruth tells the story of a Gentile who married a Jew and became an ancestor of the Messiah, while the book of Esther tells the story of a Jew who married a Gentile and saved the Jewish nation from destruction so the Messiah could be born. Both books teach us that God is always working behind the scenes to fulfil His will and lead His people.

Ruth is a story for people who wonder what to do when God’s voice seems silent and His presence feels distant. It's a story for people who wonder if God cares when one tragedy after another attacks their family. It's a story for people who wonder whether living a life of integrity during tough times is even worth it. And it's a story for people who wonder if their ordinary, everyday lives of faithfulness will ever matter in the end.

Ruth is a story of redemption, and redemption is a powerful word. It means to release from bondage through the payment of a price; it means to deliver someone from their situation or from their enemies. And that is why we will see shadows of Jesus throughout the book of Ruth, as we travel on this REDEMPTION ROAD. Join us for this enlightening, encouraging Bible Study!
