Israel in the book of Joshua is in the same place that we stand today - on the threshold of a new experience, on the way to a new level of living. They are a new generation, holding an old promise that has never yet been possessed. Those kinds of transitions are difficult, but necessary if we are to be all that God has called us to be. God is not transitioning Israel (or us!) to a place where there are no more battles, but to a place where the battles are more strategic - and therefore the results are more significant, influential and eternal. The book of Joshua is a warfare handbook, and there are lessons to learn in every battle waged that apply to us today.
